-Moves using pseudopodia (extensions of cytoplasm)
-Obtains food by surrounding and engulfing food (endocytosis) making a food vacuole; feeds on small organisms like bacteria
-Food travels through the cytoplasm in a food vacuole
-Waste leaves the cell through exocytosis
-Most live in salt water, but some in freshwater (They like moist places because nutrients dissolved in the water can diffuse directly through their cell membranes
-Reproduce through binary fission (asexual reproduction)
Two kinds: Foraminiferans (hard shells calcium carbonate), Radiolarians (shells of silica)
